BentWood Carpentry & Homes Inc. was founded in the spring of 2008.
Owner Andy Walker has 15 years of experience in Whatcom County's residential construction industry. The desire to work independently was motivated by a need to express creativity in design and problem solving that seemed to fit with the customers BentWood Carpentry & Homes Inc. serves.

As the name suggests fine carpentry is the primary focus of our work. As a licensed experienced contractor, the complete construction of your home is also within the capabilities of our staff. This also includes the remodel of your home, bath, kitchen, etc. The one common element that all of these tasks share is attention to detail.

Many of our customers have commented in the past on the patience that seemed to be necessary to do the work that we do.

As our society evolves, we are developing a sense that tomorrow is not someone else’s problem, but instead it is our responsibility. Sustainability and construction have been paired in the recent past as partners for tomorrow. BentWood Carpentry & Homes Inc. believes in this theory.

Owner Andy Walker built his family’s home using alternative materials and methods including the installation of a ground source heat pump (Geo-thermal) to heat their home.

A Local Company

Whatcom County is unique in its economy, it’s diversity, it’s ideas and its designs, many of which don’t fit in the “BOX”. As much as we are in the box building business, we strive to do it with an “outside the BOX” perspective. “BentWood" is more than a name – it’s an option when you work with us. The genesis of the name was a series of Bent Wood window liners produced for a local supplier. The uniqueness of each piece represented our desire to do even the typical job a little better, a little more unique.
